Personal Injury

The field of personal injury is an overarching umbrella term that is applied to an array of injuries resulting from accidents that occurred because another individual, company or government was acting negligently. This broad definition can apply to everything from a commercial truck driver who dozed off and caused an accident, a catastrophic, debilitating on the job injury resulting from a crane accident, boiler explosion or a similar event, a negligent driver who hits a motorcyclist and virtually any other scenario that occurs due to negligence. A personal injury doesn’t necessarily have to be bodily harm, and cases have successfully been brought due to emotional and mental injuries.

In all of these situations, the culpable party is likely insured, whether it’s a company or an individual. As profit-based institutions, it is in the insurance company’s best interest to pay your family as little as possible for your pain and suffering. A personal injury attorney will fight to win you the compensation you deserve, not the small settlement figure the insurance company is initially willing to offer.

Auto Accident Injuries

Auto accidents are a daily occurrence, as are the injuries that result from them. These cases are especially inconvenient when the at-fault driver doesn’t carry auto insurance, or is underinsured, which results in the victim having to pay for medical care and damaged property with their own money. Our personal injury attorneys at Adams, Jordan & Herrington, P.C. offer FREE consultations so you can learn about your options and get the information you need to move forward. Our attorneys will go to great lengths to ensure you receive the money and support you need to recover from this personal tragedy.

Truck and Big-Rig Accidents

Our personal injury attorneys are well versed in commercial trucking accident injuries. They know how to effectively fight the trucking company’s insurance provider, despite their deep pockets, to get victims the compensation they deserve.

Doctors and healthcare professionals are held to a high standard as virtually every resident of our state depends on them to maintain their health, and resultantly their happiness. Nursing Home Negligence and Abuse Injuries

The people caring for your loved ones in nursing, elder care and assisted living facilities are trusted with the health and wellness of some of our society’s most vulnerable people, especially if the victim isn’t able to effectively communicate the abuse. If the people charged with taking care of your loved one have been negligent in their duties, or worse, abusive towards the people in their care, your family deserves justice. If you suspect your loved one is being abused or neglected in any way, it is imperative that an investigation is begun immediately. Our firm is quite familiar with nursing home abuse and negligence cases, and we will aggressively pursue the outcome that will result in equitable compensation and a permanent solution to the abusive or negligent situation at the facility.

On the Job Injuries

There are many state and federal laws that not only protects the rights of workers but also legally require employers to provide a safe work environment. Even if your injury wasn’t a result of negligence, and instead was just a consequence of the routine performance of your job, your employer may be required to pay for medical expenses and lost income. On the job injury claims in Georgia do not require negligence. Any employer with three or more employees must abide by this law, and if your employer is refusing the compensation you are legally owed we highly suggest you seek the assistance of an on the job injury attorney.

Wrongful Death

The loss of a loved one, especially as a result of someone else’s negligence or purposeful act, is a heartbreaking experience for any family. Wrongful death actions are a civil matter, and although there may be a criminal case corresponding to the incident, only a civil case will award monetary damages. The essence of wrongful death law is the idea that everyone is prohibited from causing intentional harm to another individual, and are required to maintain a “duty of care” towards each other. A dangerous or negligent act that resulted in the death of another individual is a failure to uphold this duty, and is grounds for a wrongful death case. Our attorneys at Adams, Jordan & Herrington, P.C. have helped many families in your situation, and we understand what you’re experiencing. We’ll provide compassionate, caring representation to help you get through this difficult time.

Product Liability

Although we would like to think the makers and manufacturers of the goods we purchase on a daily basis are responsible with the production and design of their products, this is not always the case. If you or a loved one has suffered an injury due to a defective or improperly designed product, you may have a product liability case. These cases can often be made against not just the manufacturer but the wholesaler, distributor and even the store in which the defective product was sold. These cases can involve negligence as well as what is known as strict liability and breach of warranty. Defective product settlements can include compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, emotional pain, disfigurement and physical impairment, property damage and the loss of your ability to earn a living. Accidents resulting in death can result in additional damages.
